Why is the Sky Blue? How Does Light Scatter?

One of the big science questions- what makes the sky blue? Building on the last few videos, we talk about how light and photons contribute to the coloring of the sky here on earth. It all comes down to the atmosphere surrounding earth, which bounces the more energetic photons like blue and violet. A couple notes- the sky looks more blue rather than violet because our eyes aren't as sensitive to violet light. We also simplify the sun's light to being white, although that assumes that all photons are emitted equally, which we know is not the case with our sun.
