The goal of this video is to get students to understand the concept of path difference (how much farther one wave must travel than another) and the role that the path difference plays in conditions for constructive interference (path difference = n lambda) and destructive interference (path difference = (n + 1/2) lambda. Note that each individual path does not need to be a whole or half-integer number of wavelengths. Only the difference in the lengths of the two paths is important.
