Denialistic Amnesia A Revisionist Attempt to Deny Their African Identity This article seeks to restore a sense of purpose and identity among “Black” people in America who have somehow lost a sense of self-identity over the past 9 years. A culture war within the “Black” community has emerged, and over that time, people have become less African and more Indigenous. One would argue that the further removed a people are from the past, the less likely they are to identify with it. Others would say that your past is the building block of your existence moving forward. I seek to challenge the status quo and provide clarity using many sources to clear up any confusion about who we are as a people and how we must continue to embrace our past.
