I begin my hopeful thru-hike of the Continental Divide Trail along with my friends Bitez and Radio from the PCT and a new friend we meet on the border shuttle, Wonder Woman. We become a tight knit group of four from the first day as we get accustomed to the cow water, relentless sun, and rattlesnakes characteristic of the New Mexico desert. What is a shade hole?
