This video shows the tunic of the 1914 Australian Light Horse Trooper (equal in rank to a Private). There are a number of badges and items on it, not all of them originating in 1914 but slowly being added for one reason or another over the period of the Great War. Most blokes did not return home to Australia until 1919 and despite the horror of what they had endured they were still no doubt proud to display this collection of their individual personal achievements. Note: I did forget to include in the video that inside the tunic was a sturdy pocket specifically designed to hold a field dressing (bandage) and that pocket and field dressing is what is shown in the video 'thumbnail'.
