West Coast Combat - Palomar RC Flyers Pearl Harbor Classic 2009

The Pearl Harbor Classic is the West Coast Combats largest combat event of the year and is held in Southern Californias north San Diego County. Pilots came in from Northern California, Nevada and as far away as Ohio. These are highly specialized coroplast (corrugated plastic) constructed R/C combat airplanes. The events are sanctioned through the RCCA (Radio Control Combat Association) which is a special interest group of the AMA. You must be a member in good standing with the AMA to compete. The planes are powered by either a .15 or .25 glow engine depending on the class they compete in. If you want to try R/C flying that can provide more excitement then usual weekend flying, check out combat. Combat challenges the pilots flying reflexes and a pilots ability to identify a kill and ability to avoid being killed. You'll need to manage aggressiveness and defensiveness skills. Even landing skills come into play as there is an added point bonus for performing a carrier landing at the end of the round.
