Goul Mourning my beautiful friends. Happy Halloween 🎃 This weeks cover song is one of my longest and most spookiest song I’ve covered. One of my all time fave #Genesis songs - this was the centrepiece from their 1983 self titled album which is known amongst fans as Shapes. It’s a 2 part song made up of Part 1 and the mainly instrumental part 2 (known as Second Home by the sea). #HomeByTheSea is a story of a burglar who goes to rob a spooky old mansion in a coastal setting. When inside he encounters a number of ghosts who tell their story of how they got there and in the process ensnare that person to be the next person who stays at the Home by the sea. Another take on the hotel California scenario basically. I used AI to create this video - when I saw Genesis live they had a video that played on the big screen behind the band. It was older graphics of the 90’s/2000’s of course but I always loved the symbolism of the video so decided to recreate my own and extended version of it. I hope you like it.
