BLUFOR: Mortars annoyed the enemy with the frequency of a disgruntled housewife and the volume of a lawnmower at 0600 on a easter day Sunday. OPFOR responded emotionally. That was their second mistake. The first was being spawned in our AO. OPFOR: Enemy tried to un-[MARINE NOISES] themselves. Failed spectacularly. Situation: Situation kicked off when OPFOR decided to sneak up through the wooded beachfront like it was some kind of CoD stealth mission. Now, credit where it’s due — they managed to stay quiet until they started the assault… with frags and RPGs. Then came the discoveries, that they should have made earlier. The first realisationm frags and RPG went to the wrong places, were we weren't, so no casualties on our part. Secondly, that we’d put up barbed wire and HESCOs because we like not dying. Thirdly, that the two M2 HMGs we built to support our assault on the peninsula happened to cover their approach vector, not because we saw them, but because we’re not idiots. It’s a .50 cal, not a [MARINE NOISES] peashooter. We don’t need [MARINE NOISES] visual confirmation. We just need a grid square to [HAPPY MARINE NOISES]. And [PROUD MARINE NOISES] it we did. Execution: They chose the side of the base with two M2 .50 cals. That’s not a flank, that’s a cry for help. To be clear — we didn’t ambush them. They ambushed themselves. They walked, with full commitment and no second thoughts, into what can only be described as a belt-fed thunderstorm. Each of those HMGs fired off about 600 rounds which a total around 20,325,577 joules for a job where we only need about 100 joules when applied surgically. [MARINE NOISES] surgery, they came to us. Notable Observations: Mortar crews visually identified targets before dropping rounds. That’s... rare. The .50 cal gunners are now insufferably smug. Morale high. Ammo low. OPFOR may require therapy. Conclusion: Enemy tried to evict us. Got evicted from existence instead. 26 confirmed dispatches to the Pearly Gates for review just from the mortars, and another 8 courtesy of the HMGs as of the end of the match. 10/10 tactical comedy. Would dig in there again.
