RoboCop isn’t just a sci-fi action movie — it’s a story of trauma, PTSD, and clawing your way back from the edge of humanity. In this video, I’ll show you the deeper psychology hidden inside Verhoeven’s 1987 classic. Most people read RoboCop as a satire of Reagan’s America, corporate greed, and consumer culture. That’s true — but it’s not the whole picture. Beneath the satire lies a darker, more human story: Alex Murphy’s violent death, his rebirth inside the machine, and his struggle to piece together a shattered identity. Through Jungian archetypes and the language of trauma, RoboCop becomes a film about what it means to survive the unthinkable — and rebuild yourself when the world insists you’re gone. Do you see RoboCop as satire, or as a story about trauma and rebirth? Let me know in the comments — I’d love to hear your take.
