In todays episode we are using the coveted Revox a77 to warm up a digital mix by mastering it onto RTM LPR35. This song (Awake At Dawn by The Monroe) has already been mixed and mastered, so we are just taking it one step further by sending it through some circuitry. This is a great way to glue things together, increase some low-end, add perceived loudness via saturation and most importantly: get you to stop fidgeting with the mix in your DAW! Once I throw it on tape, its a WRAP. Move on to the next project. It can be so easy to constantly make variations of the same none-sense. Read about any classic record and you are sure to hear a story about people going nuts making 50 revisions only to side with #2. Again thank you to the amazing people at RTM for sponsoring this video! These tapes will get you to experience your music in a brand new way. I highly recommend buying new stock, try the different formulas. Discover what sounds good to you!
