Renowned as one of the most celebrated and prolific groups in modern powwow music, Northern Cree were founded in Maskwacis, Alberta by brothers Steve, Randy, Charlie, and Earl Wood. For more than four decades, they have carried forward their traditions while sharing their music with audiences around the world. Over the course of their remarkable career, the group has earned two Juno Awards and nine Grammy Award nominations, and appeared on the Grammy-winning album Gathering of Nations Pow Wow 1999. In 2017, they made history as the first powwow group to perform at the Grammy Awards, further bringing Indigenous music to a global stage.
