Hello everyone, so today I am sharing one of the most famous Easter cookies in the Middle East. It is called Maamoul. It's almost like shortbread cookies. Taste so good and it melts in your mouth. Thank u so much for watching and have a great day, God bless you all 💖 Maamoul Recipe Ingredients 3 cups of semolina # 2 (you can use coarse as well #3) 1/2 cup AP flour 1 cup melted butter 1/4 tsp instant dry yeast 1/2 cup plus 1 tbsp rose water Filling: 1 cup chopped walnuts 1/3 cup of sugar 1/2 tbsp cinnamon Powder Sugar for dusting Instructions: Mix Semolina and butter together making sure all the semolina is coated with the butter. Cover and let it rest for 1hr. Longer you leave it will be better. Make the filling, mix walnut and sugar with cinnamon and set aside. After the hour, add the flour, yeast and gradually add the rose water until the dough is soft and pliable. Take a ping pong size dough, make a well in the centre with your finger, place a tbsp of the filling and shape it, if you have a mold use it if not just shape it with a spoon. Place the cookies on a lined baking sheet and bake at 350 deg for 15-18 min. Remove cookies and transfer to cooling rack and sprinkle icing sugar while hot.
