The Central Pacific Lowlands of Costa Rica stretches from the Tarcoles River in the North down to the Sierpe River in the South. Especially the area around the Tarcoles River and the Carara National Park are famous among birdwatchers. The beaches along the Pacific coast attract shore and sea birds in huge numbers. The river mouths with dense mangrove forests are ideal places to look for special birds like the Mangrove hummingbird. During our stay at the Villa Lapas Jungle Village we did a long boat trip on the Tarcoles river, visited the Carara National Park, walked along the Tarcoles beach and went on many roadside birdings in the wider area. We spend the evenings at the Tiko Restaurant high up in the mountains. We enjoyed the wonderful view over the Tarcoles river valley, the amazing bird watching terrasse and delicious Asian cuisine. Welcome to part 6 of our three week bird watching tour to Costa Rica in December 2024 and January 2025. We stayed three nights at the Villa Lapas Jungle Village near the Tarcoles River and Carara National Park. We would like to thank our amazing guide Beto Guido for showing us all the beautiful birds and wildlife of Costa Rica. For inquiries contact him here: https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?... Please find all the animal species names in the video subtitles [CC] or in the description below.
