Flying in the larger maps like Firestorm and Mirak Valley is quite a challenge, but in general a conclusion I'm starting to reach is that the Escalation map boundaries are much better than the Conquest ones - the maps feel like they were designed for Escalation which I feel is a strange misstep for the franchise as Conquest as always been the more iconic mode. If you want a window into the kind of gameplay that pisses me the f*** off take a look at what happens around the 2:00 to 2:20 timestamp - notice how I spot a Bradley IFV, easily 500+ meters away - the IFV is totally in the middle of the open, in a wide featureless plain, and I also clearly see he is being pushed by 2 of my team's tanks, and 1 recon sneaking towards him with C4. Assuming this IFV player wants to stay alive for and play the game like a normal human being, I purposefully ignore him and just focus on killing the black hawk. The Bradley however, whilst actively dying, being shot at by my team's tanks, instead of moving, shooting at the tanks, whatever else, he decides to shoot a cross map tow at me, flying within my own base's boundaries. He shoots the tow, misses narrowly, and not 5 seconds later, our tank shoots him 1 last time and the recon blows him up with C4. Now, what crosses my mind and frustrates me is how easily I could've died to a total buffoon, that is for no justifiable reason hyperfixated on shooting at me over anything else, to the point he kills himself for the mere chance of a 500 meter tow shot - he literally dies 5 seconds after shooting the tow at me. Who the f*** plays the game like this?
