This presentation was part of #FHIRDevDays 2025, the premiere event for #FHIR implementers organized by ‪@FirelyTeam‬ and ‪@HealthLevelSevenInc‬. Talk description: FHIR is playing a growing role in genomics, enabling the standardized exchange of genetic data in healthcare. This session provides an overview of the Genomics Reporting Implementation Guide (IG), outlining its structure and key use cases. We explore the latest updates in STU3, including enhancements for variant representation, sequencing data, and clinical interpretation. Looking ahead, we examine the new genomic resources introduced in FHIR R5 and R6, their scope, intended use cases, and how they intersect with the R4 base Implementation Guide.
