Africa’s diverse experiences in implementing Digital Public Infrastructure (DPI) offer valuable lessons for advancing inclusion, innovation, and efficiency. This session, moderated by Nanjira Sambuli, featured representatives from three African nations as they shared insights into their countries' DPI journeys. Drawing from unique national contexts, panellists discussed the successes and challenges they’ve encountered in rolling out digital identity systems, payment platforms and data exchanges. Each country’s experience shed light on key elements such as governance frameworks, citizen engagement, and the socio-political factors shaping DPI implementation. From Kenya’s complex transition to a new digital ID, Maisha Namba, to other pioneering African efforts, this session highlighted how different governance environments, accountability mechanisms, and local priorities influence DPI outcomes. Join our expert panellists Yodahe Araya Slassie Zemichael (Ethiopia), Solomon Richardson (Ghana) and Rosemary KISEMBO (Uganda) as they explored how regional collaboration, and shared knowledge can further strengthen DPI initiatives across the continent. . . .
