Yet women and girls – half the world’s population – experience disproportionate health risks and challenges, including reproductive health and maternal care, endometriosis, cancer, heavy mental loads that are too often treated as taboos, and inequitable access to basic quality health care. This not only affects women and girls’ individual lives, but also negatively affects the world’s broader social and economic potential.
