[ TRACES 2021 🔴 ] - Amoukanama 🇬🇳 Conakry, Guinea 👇 FA ("Come") 👇 “After an intensive creation assignment under direction of Anthony Weiss with the selected students, we went to an island near the shore of Conakry to capture the essence on what we had worked. It was not easy to organise, but once there we captured some beautiful images with the questions of the creation in mind (What can we achieve by coming together? What dreams can come true? How far can we go, beyond our own limits, crossing borders?). These images were used to make this video. We have been working since beginning of 2019 with Anthony Weiss and this group of students to find a liveliness of different cultures that can be combined with a contemporary writing by Anthony Weiss. It has been an intense process with obstacles of communication, travel restrictions, political issues, lack of space and materials... But by focusing on 'what is' rather than what is not, we are slowly progressing towards a beautiful show that will hopefully touch many people's heart.“ 👇 FA ("Venez") 👇 « Après un travail de création intensif sous la direction d'Anthony Weiss avec les étudiant.e.s sélectionné.e.s, nous nous sommes rendu.e.s sur une île près du rivage de Conakry pour capturer l'essentiel de ce que nous avions créé. Il n’a pas été facile de s’organiser, mais une fois sur place, nous avons capturé de belles images avec nos questions de création en tête (Que pouvons-nous réaliser en nous réunissant ? Quels rêves peuvent devenir réalité ? Jusqu'où pouvons-nous aller, au-delà de nos propres limites ?). Nous avons utilisé ces images pour réaliser cette vidéo. Nous travaillons depuis début 2019 avec Anthony Weiss et ce même groupe d'étudiant.e.s pour essayer de combiner la richesse de nos différentes cultures avec l’écriture contemporaine d'Anthony Weiss. Ca a été un processus intense, avec des obstacles de communication, des restrictions de voyage, des problèmes politiques, un manque d'espace et de matériel... Born in 2020 to brave the health crisis, the TRACES project challenges circus students from our member schools to make a video creation of 3 minutes maximum. Each year, a new theme is proposed; in 2021, our participants thus imagined a proposal around the theme Fly the nest. The videos received are broadcasted on FEDEC’s YouTube channel and Facebook page, but also during CIRCa Festival in Auch. TRACES thus participates in bringing a diversity of circus creation formats to this event which is attended every year by students, teachers, professionals and enthusiasts from all over the world! ------- 📅 21-30 Octobre 2021 sur YouTube, Facebook & pendant Circa à Auch! Né en 2020 pour braver la crise sanitaire, le projet TRACES défie les étudiant.e.s en cirque de nos écoles membres de réaliser une création vidéo de 3 minutes maximum. Chaque année, une nouvelle thématique est proposée; en 2021, nos participant.e.s ont ainsi imaginé une proposition autour du thème de l’Envol. Les vidéos reçues sont diffusées sur la chaîne YouTube et la page Facebook de la FEDEC, mais aussi et surtout pendant le festival CIRCa à Auch. TRACES participe ainsi à apporter une diversité de formats de création circassienne à cet événement auquel se rendent étudiant.e.s, enseignant.e.s, professionnel.le.s et passionné.e.s du monde entier chaque année.
