Natural inspirations using flowers and leaves to print or paint paper and fabric and make silk paper

Collect some leaves and flowers from the garden then transfer the image to paper or fabric with printing. Either print direct from the leaf or use a gel plate. Take it further with some fabric painting to add a bit more colour. Using textile medium with your acrylic paints turns it into a washable fabric paint. The gel plate produced some beautiful botanical prints similar to sun dyeing. And whilst we are at it, let’s take our flowers and sandwich between silk fibres to make some beautiful silk paper, all great sources for further fabric art or embroidery, or collage.
