Vismaya suicide case is nearing its final blow. On Friday, Kollam Rural SP K B Ravi said that they have submitted the charge sheet of the case. He added that the Vismaya committed suicide after facing brutal harassment from her husband. With all evidence, the charge sheet will be submitted in the court on 10/09/2021, ‘World Suicide Prevention Day’. There are 102 witnesses in the case, 56 mainour and 92 records. Digital evidence was also accurately noticed. The 500-page charge sheet contains all the crucial evidence. Kiran was found guilty of all charges and is the only accused in the case. Apart from Vismaya's friends and relatives, the list of witnesses also includes doctors and forensic experts who performed post-mortem. Vismaya was found hanging in the bathroom of her in-law's house at Poruvazhi in Kollam on June 21. Her parents, on the same day, alleged that Vismaya's death was due to dowry harassment. Following that, Vismaya's husband Kiran Kumar, an assistant motor vehicle inspector, who has now been dismissed from the service, was arrested in the case. Her relatives said that he had constantly harassed Vismaya in the name of dowry. He was later terminated from government service. The government later avowed that he would no longer get pension, benefits or any other government jobs.
