Packed Weight: 135 gr. Installed into a Music Man John Petrucci JPXi, the BECOS Micro Booster Preamp helps boost the signal with over 20dB in gain. The preamp's attached switch-pot replaces tone control which is rewired to the new pot, along with it's capacitor. The tone control remains the same as it used to be - passive -, since the pot is not part of the booster. The boost is engaged by the Push-Push switch, which routes the signal back to true by-pass when not in use. The output volume knob of the booster was taken out through the back cover plate, for an easy adjustment of booster's level. NOTE! The wiring of the electronics may differ from one guitar to another. We drew just what we needed for this particular installation. JPXi model come with a Push-Pull tone control which is used to split pickup coils. We chose to leave pickups in split coil setting because of a more Fenderish sound, and we used the new Push-Push switch-pot for booster on/off signal routing. Because this model of guitar comes with a battery we eliminated the stereo output jack supplied with the booster and we connected the power wires to the existing piezo preamp board.
