Recently published research has revealed the precise mechanisms used by key oral pathogens to suppress the host’s immune system contributing to systemic illnesses. Indeed, key oral pathogens are reported to be the determinants of a new “axis of disease”. Gut dysbiosis may follow an oral dysbiosis leading to “leaky” gut and in recent studies a faulty Blood Brain Barrier.
