Beginning piano and violin at four, he debuted with an orchestra at age nine and later studied in Cologne and Lübeck. From 2007 to 2014 he served as principal violinist of the Gewandhaus Orchestra Leipzig under Riccardo Chailly before being appointed Professor of Viola at Folkwang University of the Arts in Essen in 2013. As a performer, Lubbe appears worldwide on major stages—including Berlin Philharmonie, Concertgebouw Amsterdam, Wigmore Hall, and Carnegie Hall—and collaborates with top orchestras. A celebrated overtone singer, he integrates vocal polyphony into his instrumental work, inspiring new compositions and teaching across global institutions. His discography spans classical, contemporary, and improvisational projects; recently earning a German Jazz Prize nomination for his duo album Lubatov with pianist Simon Nabatov. About Hayden Chisholm Hayden Chisholm is a New Zealand-born saxophonist, composer, and multi-instrumentalist known for his warm tone and deep musical curiosity. After studying in Cologne on a DAAD scholarship, he immersed himself in microtonal music, eventually developing his own unique "split-scale" system. His musical path has taken him across the globe—from India to the Balkans—blending jazz, classical, and traditional forms into a style all his own. He’s collaborated extensively with visual artist Rebecca Horn and released ambitious projects like 13 Views of the Heart’s Cargo. Equally at home in improvisation and composition, Chisholm is a sought-after performer and teacher. Now based in Belgrade, he curates festivals, runs a music club, and continues to push musical boundaries with depth and soul. About Susanne Szambelan Praised for her “nobility of tone and intimacy of expression” (Pizzicato Magazine), Berlin-based cellist Susanne Szambelan has performed at major festivals including Krzyżowa-Music, Zermatt, and Encuentro de Música. A passionate chamber musician, she has collaborated with Daniel Hope and Noah Bendix-Balgley, appeared on ARTE Concert, and released the Opus Klassik–nominated album dichter.liebe. She plays a Jean-Baptiste Vuillaume cello, supported by Villa Musica Rheinland-Pfalz. 🔔 Don’t forget to like, subscribe & hit the bell icon!
