CSX M427 with Two Ex-Pan Am Railways EMD FP9A Locomotives!

CSX M427 at West Springfield yard. Ex-Pan Am Railways locomotives 1 and 2, both EMD FP9A models in tow, head west to Selkirk NY. Since CSX has taken over Pan Am, the transition of power/equipment has begun, including moving these two relics to a new location. This is their last journey under the Pan Am Railways scheme, and their future remains unclear. They were the special power for Pan Am’s Office Car Special (OCS) train used for business meetings, as well as many other very important events. Both locomotives were built in the 1950’s, and only 90 were constructed. Overall, this M427 was 103 cars long, with 3 AC4400CW’s pulling the train on the head end.
