ENERGY AND GREEN TRANSITION MINISTER VISITS ALUMINUM SMELTING COMPANIES OWN BY CHINESE NATIONALS

The Minister of Energy and Green Transition, John Abdulai Jinapor, along with his team and operatives from National Security, has visited two aluminum smelting companies located in Shai Hills and a warehouse in Kpone, Tema. This visit follows the arrest of 12 Chinese nationals and a Ghanaian by National Security operatives in connection with the disappearance of over 1,300 ECG containers at the Tema Port. As it stands now, 14 arrests have been made, 10 Chinese nationals and four Ghanaians. The two companies in Shai Hills are Danfang and Ponlok Manufacturing Company Limited, while the facility in Kpone is a warehouse, where four people have been arrested there and are awaiting further investigations. The Minister described the situation as alarming.
