"The night I saw Searching For Sugar Man at SXSW was incredible. Not only did I get to see the film but also hearing Malik and Rodriguez speak, then attending a surprise show by Rodriguez with only fifty people and hanging out with Malik at the gig. I was very inspired by the way Malik held him self as well as obviously his film and asked if he would let me interview him. The following day we headed out to his hotel, way on the outskirts of Austin by the side of a motorway. Malik was very friendly and open to us and seemed to be still just getting his head around the success the film was beginning to have (this was a year before the Oscar.)
