A memorial poem for Renee Good is read by a child from Minneapolis as we see images from Renee's memorial site. Then the young girl's Somali-American mother speaks about how she is turning her child's fear into courage and love by involving her in community, neighborhood events, and ICE protests. Many children in Minneapolis have expressed fear over the surge of ICE and many do not feel safe to leave their homes. Renee Good was shot and killed by an ICE agent while in her car January 7, 2026. A public Indigenous memorial ceremony, Wokiksuye (Remembrance), was held on February 7, 2026, in Minneapolis's Powderhorn Park to honor Renee Good. Led by local Indigenous leaders and the community, the event focused on healing, resistance against ICE, and honoring her life through ceremony, music, and poetry.
