Messengers presents Words Of My Mouth a rootikal vocal cut by Roberto 'Lone Ark' Sánchez . A 7 inch single taken from the forthcoming album. Produced and backed by Message Recorded and Mixed by Roberto Sánchez At A-Lone Ark Muzik Studio Players of instruments: Drums, piano, lead and backing vocals: Roberto 'Lone Ark' Sánchez Bass: Gorka 'Mr Bassie' Sánchez Guitar: Roberto 'Jah Riddim' Bartolomé Organ: Javi 'Bass Lee' Arkotxa Clavinet: Gorka 'Junior G' Fernández Percussion: Ferrán 'I-Man Cruz' Cocera Messengers, the label run by the Message band, presents a new single; Words of My Mouth, a rootikal vocal cut by Roberto “Lone Ark” Sánchez, the well known Spanish engineer/producer, musician and singer, as well as drummer of the band. The flip side showcases a tuff dub, reminiscent of the best Channel One years, called Meditation Of My Dub. The lyrics are based on part of the Psalm 19 combined with Sanchez’s original writing. This psalm was popularized musically in Jamaica by The Melodians when they cut “By The Rivers Of Babylon”, a classic Rasta Chant, at Treasure Isle in 1970. The Melodians' original version of the song appeared on the soundtrack album for the 1972 movie “The Harder They Come”, which made it internationally known. The psalm talks about the Glory of God displayed through His Creation and His Word. Roberto sings his song using a third over his own lead vocal following the duo-art of singing created by groups such as Earth & Stone. This rockers riddim composed by Message brings in mind the best Revolutionaries riddims from the 70’s: from the wah guitar by Jah Riddim to the tuff bass line and raw drum pattern or Mr. Bassie and Lone Ark, and the clavinet and bubble of Bass Lee and Junior G, everything sounds as it should. The riddim was previously released on Messengers label with a trombone instrumental by Junior G called Winds Of Change and followed by its dub. Same way, the tune, it was part of the second studio album of Message band, Showcase Vol.II. This new vocal cut, Words of My Mouth, will be also part of the forthcoming Roberto “Lone Ark” Sánchez vocal album with Message that will be soon released. This single is the forth 7inch release from the band and starts a series of collaborations with different singers that will see the light on their own label. The single, as well as the previous material released on Messengers label, have been produced by the Message themselves and recorded and mixed by Roberto Sánchez at his A-Lone Ark Muzik Studio. Everything recorded live and on reel to reel tapes, and mixed in the old school way, analogically, for the pleasure of all roots lovers in all terms.
