Airport West Football Club is an Australian rules football club, located 14 km north west of Melbourne in the suburb of Airport West. Established in 1961, the club affiliated with the Essendon District Football League in 1962. The club's first senior premiership was in 1978 in the short-lived A3 Grade (from 1977 to 1985). The club won its B Grade premiership in 1985 and A Grade premierships in 1992 and 1993 coached by Des English. The West Coburg Football Club play in the Essendon District Football League (EDFL) and are based at Shore Reserve in Pascoe Vale South, Melbourne. We field a senior, reserves and under 19's teams, as well as countless junior teams for both boys and girls, ranging from under 9's to under 17's. The Essendon District Football League (EDFL) is a professional Australian rules football league competition based in Essendon, Victoria, and consisting of teams based in the north-west suburbs of Melbourne. Founded in 1930, the men's competition consists of three leagues: Premier Division, Division 1 and Division 2, with 10 clubs in the Premier Division and Division 1 nine in Division 2. The league is governed by AFL Victoria.
