Candelaría Caves in Central Guatemala are adventures for anyone that also helps a small Mayan community. Great stop all around! We decided to do the dry cave tour which was an hour and a half and tubing which ended up being 2 hours long. We loved visiting this small town, anything that gets us further into nature is our favorite. We were able to hear howler monkeys and toucans as well as see snakes, frogs and fish. Our hike through the rain forest was beautiful and heading into caves after really cooled us down. Tubing through a cave is so fun and unique, we loved chilling in our tubes watching the stalactites above. Danny had a headlight so he pointed out the best figures. Waterproof lights are hard to come by but we tried not to dunk our heads in the water so just a normal headlight worked for us! It cost 300Q or around $38USD for tubing and cave tour for both of us. We stayed for one night in our van and it was 50Q or $6USD ——————————————————————— Resources : This place was suggested in the travel book, Don’t Go There, It’s Not Safe, You’ll Die The app iOverlander helped us find this spot. ——————————————————————— If you have limited service like us we also wrote a blog article about our experience https://vandersons.com/2021/03/19/can... ——————————————————————— Follow us on Instagram! / the.vandersons ——————————————————————— Music : Smokey Eye - Cheel Where We Wanna Go - Patrick Patrikios Breeze - Delicate Steve Subway Dreams - Dan Henig
