We say “IL gatto” because “gatto” ends with an “O”, ergo it's a male noun, so we put “IL” in front of it, right? But what about “VOLPE”? It has the article “LA”, so it's a female noun, then why isn't it “VOLPA” with an “A” at the end? Well, the rule “O is male and A is female” has plenty of exceptions, and “volpe” is one of them. However there are tricks that will help you spot some “naughty” nouns, and you can find them here:    • Sostantivi con la E      • Maschili con A e Femminili con O   And I suppose that by now you've got used to my mistakes, so I've done my best to meet your expectations this time too. During the song, (around 4:52) there is a line that says “FA UN CONTRATTO E VEDRAI”, that “FA” should come with an apostrophe (like this: FA') because it's a shortening of “FAI”, imperative form.
