CREATING HAND SURGERY RESEARCH NETWORKS FOR EVIDENCE BASED CARE Many surgeons treat patients with hand problems. Yet best evidence on treatment for a variety of conditions such as CMC 1 arthritis is still constrained. To create more evidence based hand surgery, we have experts in the field that have setup large national or international scientific databases or research networks to provide us with their experiences and lessons on getting data to support value based health care, especially in hand surgery. They address issues on team work how to promote collaboration to get big data how to fund research how to provide acknowledgements to people supporting initiatives, eg. by collaborative authorships This webinar was organised by the scientific committee of the Dutch Society for Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, NVPC. ICOPLAST has supported the webinar by providing webinar technology and shared the event via social media. Presenters: Reinier Feitz, hand surgeon in the Netherlands and founder of the Xpert Clinic, a specialized hand surgery clinic in The Netherlands. David Ring, hand surgeon, dean & professor of surgery, Austin , Texas. Rudolf Polman, orthopedic surgeon , professor in health care innovation , The Netherlands Moderators:.
