We reached Singapore on 12th October, 2022. Below I have given some Important points to remember for Singapore travel: Airfare: Try to book your tickets well in advance. Maybe 3-4 months before. You can get a good deal on airfare. If you book round trip tickets, you can get some discount. Better to book Air India flight AI-346/347. We got a good deal on this flight for Return tickets. We booked it for Rs. 55000 for 3 people return. That means it cost us only Rs. 9000 per pax up & down. Accommodation: My personal suggestion is to book hotel near to any MRT station. It will be better if that MRT is a connecting station. Try to take hotel near to these stations – Dhoby Ghaut, Bugis, Chinatown or Little India. We booked Hotel Village Bugis. You can get cheap & affordable rates at this hotel. Be sure to check out their site. https://www.villagehotels.asia/en/hot... Transport: Transportation cost in Singapore is really on the higher side. But thankfully, Singapore is very well connected with MRT & LRT services. Your 2nd job after landing in Singapore is to buy an EZ link card from the airport itself. Below I have given the link for EZ link site. You can get access to all the public transports for 3 days by paying a minimal amount. You can also recharge this card as per your convenience. https://www.ezlink.com.sg/home-tourist/ Sim: Your 1st job after landing in Singapore will be collecting SIM cards from the airport itself. Though Singapore is well covered with wifi, still it is advisable to keep local SIM cards. SIM cards at airport can be costly. You can get a good deal if you prebook SIM cards from KLOOK. https://www.klook.com/en-IN/activity/... VISA: You can only apply for Singapore VISA prior to 1 month of travelling. But it is advisable that you apply for VISA exactly prior to 1 month. You have to book some agent for getting your VISA done. Please keep in mind that Singapore Embassy is located in 3 different places – Delhi, Mumbai & Chennai. The Delhi Embassy serves Northern & Eastern region, the Mumbai Embassy serves Western & Central region & the Chennai Embassy serves the Southern region only. So if you are staying in Kolkata & want to apply for Singapore VISA, you have to apply through Delhi Embassy only & not from any other Embassy. Below I will give the list of some authorized VISA agents. Please note that these list keeps changing. So please verify before applying. https://www.mfa.gov.sg/Overseas-Missi... Currency Exchange: Singapore currency is SGD. This is nearly equal to Rs. 60 INR. So calculate carefully. Also get your currency exchanged before boarding your flight. Currency Exchange rates at airports will be high. Try to get it exchanged before entering airport (from MMT or somewhere near to you). Attraction tickets: The attraction ticket cost will be higher. So if you are planning to stay at least 4-5 nights, it is advisable to book GO City pass. This gives access to nearly 40 attractions. I had booked this pass for my trip. Its completely hassle free.
