Music adapted by George Bruns and lyrics written by Winston Hibler and Ted Sears. Aurora (performed by opera soprano Mary Costa) sings her way through the forest with an enchanting “Bluebird” vocalization leading into “I Wonder”. 💞"Once Upon a Dream" was written for the 1959 animated film Sleeping Beauty produced by Walt Disney. Its lyrics were written by Jack Lawrence and Sammy Fain, while the music was adapted by George Bruns. "Once Upon a Dream" serves as the film's main theme, and as the love theme of Princess Aurora and Prince Philip. It is performed in the film by a chorus as an overture and third-reprise finale, as well as in a duet by opera singer Mary Costa and Bill Shirley, who voiced the roles of Aurora and Philip, respectively. 🎶 The song's melody is based on the "Grande Valse Villageoise" ("The Garland Waltz"), from the 1890 ballet The Sleeping Beauty by Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky. ~~~~ Tchaikovsky composed his ballet "The Sleeping Beauty", based on a romantic fairy tale, in 1889. He was 49 years old and at the height of his fame and powers. In the chronological order of his compositions, it follows the "Fifth Symphony" and the "Hamlet Overture" (both completed in 1888) and precedes by a year his opera "The Queen Of Spades". In the order of the three great ballets he composed, "The Sleeping Beauty" is the middle one, coming more than a decade after "Swan Lake" and three years before "The Nutcracker". #SleepingBeauty #Soprano #Disney
