Beyond The Yellow Tape: Unsolved Case of Andrew O'Neal

Unlike most cold cases, investigators say this one already has many of the missing pieces in place — including an eyewitness who came forward and named a suspect. In this episode of Beyond the Yellow Tape, we take a closer look at the unsolved 2021 murder of 59-year-old Andrew O’Neal, who was shot and killed while walking along Winston Road near Harbison Drive in south Columbus on April 16, 2021. According to Columbus Police Department Sergeant Sherman Hayes, witnesses say O’Neal and the suspect got into an argument moments before the fatal shooting. An eyewitness later identified a suspect, but detectives say unusual circumstances — including the possibility that the suspect may now be deceased — have kept the case open.
