From the NIHR Centre for IMPACT (https://www.impactsouthasia.com/) Annual Meeting in York Professor Psychiatrist and Associate Professor Krishna Prasad (National Institute of Mental Health and Neuro Sciences NIMHANS, Bangalore, India) explains research surveying the physical health of people with SMI (severe mental illness) in India, including a trial looking at smoking cessation in people with SMI. The IMPACT 4S feasibility study adapted an evidence based, combined behavioural and pharmacological support intervention for smoking cessation to tailor it for people with severe mental illness.
