A alegria saiu à rua, neste Domingo Gordo, marcado pelo regresso dos corsos em todo o mundo. Loulé, que ostenta o título de “o mais antigo Carnaval do país”, disse presente e mais de 25 mil foliões estiveram na Avenida José da Costa Mealha para celebrar um momento aguardado desde 2020, altura em que se realizou o último desfile, nas vésperas de a pandemia ter obrigado ao confinamento em Portugal. Sob o tema “Ó Zé… Já viste o Algarvensis?”, uma alusão à candidatura conjunta de Loulé, Silves e Albufeira a Geoparque da UNESCO, o primeiro dia de desfile contou com casa cheia e uma mancha multicolorida a pintar a principal artéria da cidade. Formaram-se filas imensas, como não se via há muito, para entrar na cidade e no recinto, enquanto nas bilheteiras não houve mãos a medir. Salamandra, dinossauros, paleontólogos foram também protagonistas numa tarde em que o rei da festa foi mesmo o Metoposaurus algarvensis, um anfíbio extinto semelhante a uma salamandra gigante que viveu há 227 milhões de anos e que serviu de base a esta candidatura a Geoparque. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Joy took to the streets on this Fat Sunday, marked by the return of corsos all over the world.
