This video is being uploaded to support the timeline of facts required for discussion on UFO sightings at Yuma Proving Ground, La Paz County and Yuma County, Arizona. Douglas Aircraft's M31 Honest John was the first nuclear-capable surface-to-surface rocket in the US arsenal. Its initial flight test was on 29 June 1951 and it entered service in January 1953. As a rocket, it was unguided and thus fired as an artillery piece. In contrast, the MGM-5 Corporal was the first guided missile authorized by the United States to carry nuclear warheads. In 1957 Douglas completed design for an improved Honest John, designated as XM50. Specific changes included a new lighter and higher thrust solid-rocket motor and smaller, square-tipped fins for better stability. These modifications nearly doubled the range, and greatly increased accuracy. In the video, you can see the older fins distinctive of the M31. In 1960 Douglas switched production from the M31A2 to the XM50. Operational units received XM50's in 1961.... and by December 1962 the X was dropped from its designation to just M50. In June 1963, all Honest John rockets were redesignated into the MGR-1 series, as follows: Old Designation New Designation M31 (all variants)............ MGR-1A M50.................................. MGR-1B M50A1.............................. MGR-1C In 1973, LTV's MGM-52 Lance began to replace the MGR-1 relegating Honest John to Army National Guard units. In 1982, the same year it was featured in a key reminder reference to spaceships.... the last Honest John was discarded by the National Guard. #HonestJohn, #Disclosure, #YumaProvingGround, #YumaTestStation, #Aliens, #M31, #MGR-1
