Pat and I are exploring the Sacred Navajo Lands, driving three iconic off road dirt tracks through some of the most stunning high desert scenery in the world. 1) Our first adventure is to self-drive through the iconic Navajo Nation's Sacred Monument Valley. An unforgettable experience 2)Next we drive through the Navajo Sacred Valley of the Gods. This stunning 17 mile desert trail twists and turns through buttes, mesas, and other intriguing eroded sandstone features. A knowledge of Navajo folklore enhances this wonderful Experience. 3) Onward to the San Juan River Entrenched Goose-neck Meanders. These amazing river meanders are one of the best examples of this type of geological feature, on Earth. A must for any bucket list! 4) We drive the iconic dirt road that twists and turns for 3 miles up the shear 1,100 foot face of Cedar Mesa....The Moki Dugway! It's a nail-biting drive. not without real and present dangers, but the sublime views from the Cedar Mesa top across the Valley of the Gods and the surrounding desert, 1,100 feet below, are worth all the risks.
