On the 14th of December 2019, Greenpeace and various other organization organized a protestifal at Schiphol plaza. Schiphol is the biggest airport in Europe, does not fall under the Paris climate accords and wants to keep growing in this era of climate crisis. The protestors want Schiphol to stop growing and make a climate plan to reduce emissions. In the Netherlands it’s a right to be able to protest. You ask for a permission to the municipality who has to give you a permit unless they have decent grounds to not allow it. No permit was given for this demonstration but their arguments were useless. But were taken away by force by the military police.
