The factory was established in Tongi TSS Complex. RBBL quickly became an established name in the Energy sector of Bangladesh producing batteries for telecommunication towers, auto rickshaws, IPS and UPS. After years of operation the effects lead acid batteries have on the environment became apparent to us. At the same time, lithium-based batteries started to gain traction for their reliability. The short lifecycle of Acid Batteries combined with their significant weight had a negative impact on performance. There was also the concern of pollution; 40 million liters of lead acid is released from depleted batteries each year. At this time the idea of an Eco Vehicle specifically designed for Bangladesh started to take shape. This has gone on to pollute our waterways and farmlands leading to a huge rise in cases concerning lead poisoning. At this time the idea of an Eco Vehicle specifically designed for Bangladesh started to take shape. In 2018, we decided to halt production of our gel batteries in order to try to find a solution to the pollution problem concerning gel batteries. What we found was that the biggest propellants of these harmful gel batteries were the poorly constructed three wheeled BEVs, commonly known as Easy Bikes. These poorly constructed vehicles have been responsible for countless lives; their poor design make them extremely accident prone. Moreover, almost all these vehicles were being charged in charging garages using stollen electricity costing the tax payers a fortune. Thus, in early 2019, the President of ZEDOK GROUP, Mr. Kazi Zashimul Islam made his journey to China. There he met with some of the best lithium-ion battery manufacturers and vehicle manufacturers and embarked on a 3-year journey culminating to today when we officially announce that BAAGH is ready to hit the streets.
