It's finally happening. This is a trip I've wanted to do for years, and I've finally done and I'm so happy to share it with you all. Amtrak's Southwest Chief has been my favorite route for a long time for all the stunning views you see along the way. From the plains of Colorado, to the hight Raton and Glorieta passes, to the harsh deserts of Arizona, this train has just about all there is to see, encapsulating the true beauty of America's Wild West. This trip is unlike anything done before, and I hope you all are exciting about the trip of a lifetime. The accommodations on this trip were quite nice for the price. I stayed in a roomette which pretty reasonable given the distance covered at just under $800 dollars including meals. Note I was traveling in early May when its less busy and the prices are cheaper and had booked about a month in advance, so be sure to check Amtrak's website as prices often fluctuate at certain times of year. By the way, I forgot to cover it in the video, but during my lunch on the trip, I met a fellow travel YouTuber from Korea of the channel Jisook, who also has a video on this trip. Here's a link to her channel. / @jisook_park Be sure to check it out if you haven't. I'd also love to say thank you to our sleeping attendant Martha, who was very kind and attentive for the entire trip. I hope you doing well Martha if by any chance you're watching this video. Now, you guys probably heard me play Holst the planet Jupiter the bringer of Jolity in the video, and I did it for a good reason. I played that piece at a recital, and that's exactly how I earned this trip. Since I first hear it from fellow YouTuber Noah from Lonestar Trip Reports, it's become one of my favorite music piece of all time. I figured I'd use it in the video as a callback to how I earned this trip. I hope you guys enjoy watching this video, and if you haven't, be sure to check out some of my other videos about trains.
