Rewilding Oder Delta: Gowienica rewetting action

On the 21st of June the Rewilding Oder Delta Team has gathered with guest volunteers by the Gowienica river in Poland to undertake a hands-on rewetting action, previously agreed with the foresters of the Goleniów region. The first part of the day was aimed at closing old, man-made ditches with gravel. As a second step, we focused on stopping the escape of the water from the spring basin by closing its artificial outlets. Thanks to the joint effort of the Rewilding Oder Delta team, TPRIiG members, foresters and guest volunteers, further steps have been taken to restore the natural hydrological balance in the area and its rich wildlife.
