Nat Geo People was shut down in the countries of the Middle East and Asia on October 1, 2021 about 12am Indonesia Time. On April 27, 2021, for the 21 years of television broadcasting history, Disney and Fox Networks Group announced that Nat Geo People will be closing down and will be merged with National Geographic Asia on 1 October 2021, as well as a part of its winddown of traditional cable/satellite networks across Southeast Asia. The Walt Disney Company’s business strategy is to switch to the Streaming Platform which is called Disney+ available to stream in Thailand (Disney+ Hotstar), Singapore (Disney+) Malaysia (Disney+ Hotstar) soon for the country of Philippines and Vietnam.
