Hi, welcome to Deaf Talks News. In India, getting married is important. So the family spends a lot of money on that day. But did you think spending huge amounts of money on marriage is worth it ? Let me explain. IAS Yuvraj Marmat and IPS P. Mounika has got married to each other. You all might think they are government servants and they would have spent a lot of money. But they just spend ₹2,000 for their marriage. Yuvraj, a Civil Engineer, cracked UPSC after six attempts and is posted as Assistant Collector in Raigarh, Chhattisgarh. Mounika, a pharmacology graduate, cracked UPSC and joined IPS. Their love story began at LBSNAA, Mussoorie during training. They decided to get married and they just registered. After marriage, Yuvraj applied for a cadre change so they could live and work together in Telangana. Why do we want to post this news ? In India, weddings are often expensive. The average Indian wedding costs between ₹10 lakh to ₹25 lakh. India’s wedding industry is worth over ₹3.7 lakh crore (USD 50 billion) and is growing 20-25% every year. A large part of this expense goes into decorations, food, clothes, and gold jewelry – often putting financial pressure on families. But spending only ₹2,000, this couple is sending a strong message. Marriage is about love and commitment, not an unnecessary show. Simple weddings can reduce financial stress and allow couples to focus on building their future together. This story encourages young couples in India to rethink lavish weddings and choose simplicity. Hope you all understand this news.
