Before I go any further, I do want to take this opportunity to send my prayers to the family of Van Ritshie, who passed away in November 2024. When the news was revealed, I was devastated because Van Ritshie was such a wonderful man who did excellent in radio and helped guide us New Yorkers and those in the suburbs around New York as the voice of commuter rail in the MTA. So yeah, the remainder of my rides on this roundtrip and my roundtrip on the New Haven Line will be dedicated to Van Ritshie. As a New Yorker, I think I can speak for a lot of people when I say: Thank you Van Ritshie, and may you rest peacefully in heaven. It was a smooth morning ride up to Putnam as I would connect to go to Wassaic following the trip north. So yeah, I hope you guys enjoy this relaxing ride up and I hope you guys like the variety I’ve been presenting with my flight reports and recently my clips from the 2024 Indianapolis 500.
