Next stop Budapest! A long bus ride ahead this morning to head to our next destination on this trip. We had a quiet night after our long day out yesterday, and an early nights sleep. Alarm went off nice and early this morning and we walked straight to the bus station in the dark and slightly rainy weather. Conveniently the bus station is located a five minute walk from the hotel. The Flexibus arrived a few minutes early and loaded us all in, leaving on time which is always a great start to a journey. We have 6 hours and 25 minutes of bus infront of us today. Our tickets were $95 AUD each for this ride, again the prices vary depending on your travel times. These are not the cheapest available tickets, but the best times to suit us. Booked on Omio. Our hotel is an Air BnB for our stay in Budapest, not something we do often, we normally just use bookings.com, and somehow we booked this one. Approximately $400 AUD for three nights, including all fees. We are staying in the Buda side of the city. We got ourselves on the metro system once we arrived for a “single ticket” price of 450HUF each. Took about 8 minutes to get right into the centre, we then walked to our hotel as we needed some movement after that long bus ride. Checked into our accomodation, all good there. Walked to the Spar grocery store down the street, got some lunch and spend the afternoon walking around the city.
