Clean Longsword Fencing Match

I'm the fencer with the gray overlay. The goal of these fights was to not be a reckless fencer and promote clean actions. These are shorter steel longswords with hockey tape wrapped around the blade. This is to simulate the 'bite' you would get if you were using sharp swords. It was incredibly fun to be able to control the opponent's sword without the sliding. The flat was left as steel so sliding along the flat was still possible. To promote clean fencing, the scoring was as follows: 1. doubles: both opponents receive -2 points 2. Hit/Thrust: 1 point 3. Hit/Thrust with control of the opponents blade: 3 points 4. Clear master strike: 3 points 5. After blows out of tempo count for nothing (-2 if there was no attempt to defend yourself in the withdraw). I'm facing a newer person and they did an excellent job. It's always so encouraging to see.
