Music Credits: Track 1 “New Horizon” by Marion soundcloud.com/marion-1/marion-new-horizon I spent quite a bit of time watching Tree Swallows. Their erratic movements, size and speed makes them very hard to track with any lens. During playback, I saw the tiny bugs that they were catching; tiny shrimp like insects that almost resembled lint drifting thought the shafts of early morning light. The Tree Swallows' speed and accuracy in detecting and grabbing these insects is nothing short of incredible. I am forced to consider the invisible dramas happening around me at speeds too fast for my eyes/brain to process. Yes, I think I filmed a Sharp-shinned Hawk. Feel free to disagree. It was smaller than the usual Coopers Hawks I've seen, it had the white eyebrow and a "hunched" looking wingspread. This might be hard to believe but it got my attention when it splashed in the water for a fish or perhaps something else. It missed the target but perched on a branch before me to dry itself off. I had one evening with a Barn Owl. I would like another, but I am grateful for the single privilege of seeing a wild Barn owl in flight, hunting. The night time-lapse was conducted on a night walk group with the park ranger. I set up the camera before the walk which took just under 2 hours. This park continues to spoil me. Of course, a "thank you" to the park rangers. Keeping visitors and animals safe can be challenging. Also thanks to the photographers and visitors who share their stories, experiences and love of wildlife. -------- For those new to the park, some things to consider; Do not approach the waters edge, and watch your steps on the grass. Pets are not allowed in the park (service animals only). Do not feed or harass the animals. Before you start your car, ask your self, "Am I forgetting something?" Do not pick up animals like snakes without a permit (check with Park Rangers). No fishing. Don't let toddlers wander out of your sight! The park has many hazards, not just alligators. “New Horizon” licensed via Music Vine: FQIXKMUEWDOSLNRH
