Eternalism, Presentism, and the Growing Block

One of the central questions in the philosophy of time is whether there is a metaphysically important difference between the present, the past, and the future. In this video, we are introduced to the three main theories. Eternalism claims that the universe is a 4-dimensional whole where past, present, and future are ontologically the same. Presentism and the growing block theory argue that the present is different from the future, and the presentist thinks that it is also different from the past.
